The process by which students are admitted to North Valley Academy Charter School is very specific and is set forth in our charter, which complies with Idaho Code and all other applicable laws and regulations. NVA [is] open to all students, on a space available basis within each grade level as established by the Board. The school [does] not discriminate based on race, creed, color, gender, national origin, or ancestry. Special needs of students [are] not a factor in admission decisions. The school [does] not charge tuition for students residing in the state of Idaho, levy taxes, or issue bonds. The Board may choose to charge student fees as allowed by state law.

Request for Admission
NVA has placed a cap of 24 students per grade. A parent, guardian, or other person with legal authority to make decisions regarding school attendance on behalf of a child in Idaho must submit a Letter of Intent for said child to attend NVA. Current students are not required to reapply as they are assured a seat in the next grade; however, siblings not enrolled in NVA and students applying for a seat for the 2009-2010 school year must complete and submit a Letter of Intent. Enrollment Deadline
Students are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis after the open enrollment period. Applicants are encouraged to confirm receipt of Letters of Intent by contacting the school in person at 202 14th Avenue East, by calling (208) 934-4567, or by e-mailing

. Once available openings are filled, applicants will be added to a waiting list.
Admissions Procedure
NVA has established the following admission preference as authorized by Section 33-5205(3)(j), Idaho Code:
1. Students returning to NVA;
2. Children of founders (not to exceed 10% of total capacity);
3. Siblings of students already selected to attend NVA;
4. Applicants in primary attendance area (Gooding School District); and
5. All other applicants.
Applicants will receive written notification indicating whether they are being offered a seat or placed on a waiting list. Students will be required to accept or reject the offer for class placement.
